Mailpiece with SMTP2GO

Mailpiece sends every issue through SMTP2GO with an SMTP user.

With Mailpiece

What you get

  • Issues, test issues, welcome emails and confirmations
  • Each newsletter's own from name, from address and reply-to
  • The app's sign-in mail through the same SMTP2GO account
  • Prefer its API? Send through a relay.

Set up SMTP2GO

Verify your domain under Sending › Verified Senders, then add a user under Sending › SMTP Users. A wrong username or password answers 535 incorrect authentication data.

Set the outgoing mail

On Settings › Outgoing mail, set up an SMTP server: the Server is mail.smtp2go.com, the Port 587, and the Username and Password your SMTP user's. Ports 587 and 2525 use STARTTLS; port 465 is TLS from the first byte. If your host blocks one port, try another.

# Or from the CLI
mailpiece settings sending smtp update --address mail.smtp2go.com --port 587 \
  --username ... --password ...

# The app's sign-in mail, optional: the same values
SMTP_ADDRESS=mail.smtp2go.com
SMTP_USERNAME=...
SMTP_PASSWORD=...

Send a test issue

Set a from address on your verified domain in Settings › Sending and send a test issue from any post. If it does not arrive, check SMTP2GO's activity report.

Set it up this afternoon

Install Mailpiece on a server, connect SMTP2GO, and send your next issue.
