# Mailpiece with MailerSend

*Send your newsletter through MailerSend's SMTP relay.*

Mailpiece sends every issue through MailerSend's SMTP relay with an SMTP user.

## What you get

- Issues, test issues, welcome emails and confirmations
- Each newsletter's own from name, from address and reply-to, on any verified domain
- The app's sign-in mail through the same MailerSend account
- Up to 120 requests a minute, well above Mailpiece's default sending rate
- Prefer its API? [Send through a relay](https://mailpiece.dev/docs/relay).

## Set up MailerSend

Verify your sending domain, then generate SMTP credentials. The username is assigned, both values are case-sensitive, and the password is shown once. Free and hobby plans cap daily sends, so a large list may need a paid plan.

## Set the outgoing mail

On Settings › Outgoing mail, set up an SMTP server: the Server is `smtp.mailersend.net`, the Port `587`, and the Username and Password your SMTP credentials. Port `587` with STARTTLS is the only port MailerSend lists.

```sh
# Or from the CLI
mailpiece settings sending smtp update --address smtp.mailersend.net --port 587 \
  --username ... --password ...
# The app's sign-in mail, optional: the same values
SMTP_ADDRESS=smtp.mailersend.net
SMTP_USERNAME=...
SMTP_PASSWORD=...
```

## Send a test issue

Set a from address on your verified domain in Settings › Sending and send a test issue from any post. If it does not arrive, check MailerSend's activity page.

## Set it up this afternoon

Install Mailpiece on a server, connect MailerSend, and send your next issue. [Install Mailpiece](https://mailpiece.dev/docs/install)
